A Christmas Tag

1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? Paper...but on the other had I do think bags are nice too, and don't make such a mess...but then again...isn't that a great part of the Christmas-fun - drowning in wrapping paper?! :D
2. Real tree or Artificial? Real! But seriously considering to get an artificial one because I HATE the mess! ;) Just haven't found one that looks (and smells) as nice! :D
3. When do you put up the tree? Around Lucia (Dec. 13) but growing up we decorated the tree the day before Christmas Eve...and still do at my sisters. Stephen doesn't get it so that's why ours it put up earlier. ;)
4. Do you like eggnog? Never tried it! :O
5. Favorite gift received as a child? Hmmm...I can't say...I've gotten most use out of my bike (that I got when I was 14) and cd-player (at 14 too I think) ...camera is catching up on those two quickly but favourite one? Probably a book or a record, love a good book! :)
6. Hardest person to buy for? Stephen and brother-in-law! Both don't know what they want...impossible!
7. Easiest person to buy for? Kiddies, both my own and sisters girls.
8. Do you have a nativity scene? No.
9. Mail or email Christmas cards? Mail, and only to the ones I got one from last year. :) Got fed up with sending TONS and getting 5 back so I've got a list of who I sent to and who sent one back. People do get the occational second, third, forth chance but only if I have time..
10. Worst Christmas gift you ever received? It's unfortunate but true that our beloved Granny was just hopeless with gifts...she wanted so badly to give everyone something that we all got hmmm..."rubbish". :/ A brown and orange apron one year, some other brickabrack another year... We knew she meant well but they were really bad and it would have been enough just her being with us. :)
11. Favorite Christmas Movie? :/ Don't know...
12. When do you start shopping? A week before Christmas if I plan well... :D
13. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present? As in passed it on to someone else? No, don't think so.
14. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? The desserts!
15. Lights on the tree? Small, white ones.
16. Favorite Christmas song? The traditional Swedish ones... but the wierd 50's up beat ones are good laugh too. :)
17. Travel at Christmas or stay home? Home as in "with family" since we mostly spend Christmas at my sisters about half an hours drive away and usually spend the night before and after to get into the "Christmas-mood" and finish last details together...
18. Can you name all of Santa's reindeer's? Nope.
19. Angel on the tree top or a star? Star, but would love to find the "right" angel, still looking though.
20. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning? Always Christmas Eve, in the afternoon when Santa comes to the door, possibly will do something on Christmas Day later on to embrace the British tradition...
21. Most annoying thing about this time of the year? Having to figure out what to get husband and brother-in-law :) NEVER easy!
22. Favorite ornament theme or color? white/silver or red/green/gold
23. Favorite for Christmas dinner? Stuffing balls! :) Mum's homemade meatballs.

I tag anyone reading my blog, who has one of their own and wants to share! :)

1st term done! :)

Been off antibiotics for 5 days and still feeling alright! :D Hopefully this is me well again!

First term of school is done and it has both been easier and much harder than I ever imagined! :) Everyone has been oooh:ing and aaaah:ing over that fact that I go to school full time with two little ones at home "must be such HARD work for you..." and that part hasn't been that difficult actually! :)
I got a great schedule so that has of course done a lot but what has really been tough, is this autumns unusual amount of illnessis in our little family. As you all know I've had tonsillitis three (!) times in less than two months and in between there has been tummy bugs and fever spells... THAT nearly brought me to my knees and made studying hard..."constantly" falling behind and then almost catching up to fall behind again...

BUT I DID IT! :) Passed all my subjects with a good margin and I'm feeling well pleased over getting a better grade in two subjects (natural science and maths) than I ever thought I would. :D
The grades I can get are IG - "failed", G - "passed", VG - "passed with destinction", MVG - "passed with special distinction".

Svenska A - MVG
Religion A - MVG
Matematik A - VG
Naturkunskap - VG
Histora A - VG

Doing English B over the winter break and expect nothing less than an MVG but due to my not-so-great-knowledge-of-grammar I might "only" get a VG...we'll see... :)

Super blonde!

Now in extra blonde! :D I went all out today and my hair is now very Scandinavian blonde... :) My poor scalp is numb but hair looks alright me thinks. :) We'll see what all my class mates say about it tomorrow. :/
School stress is settling slightly, final exam was on Monday and handing in my last assignment tomorrow morning. I do still have things in the English course I'm doing over Xmas and New Year break but it doesn't feel too overwhelming yet... ;)
Btw...I doing the "Nanny-course"! Starting January 19th, two terms and 750 points! :) Hope it'll be good...feeling a little bit nervous. :) Looking forward to it!
What else...? Finished my third course of antibiotics at the weekend so fingers crossed I'm germ free now!
No time to write really, just wanted to post pic of my blonde, sore, scalp! :D
Kids are SO exited, Granny&Granddad are coming on Sunday!! :D

*sigh*

Feeling empty...really should have gotten started with my assignment for natural science, due in on Wednesday. After kids had fallen asleep I just couldn't get going on it...and I have dishes in the sink too... *sigh*
Nah! :( I'm going to bed...

Tonsillitis...AGAIN!?!

It's true, unbelievable but true... I was off the antib's for about 4 days (again) and got that thick feeling in my throat again! AGAIN!?! *sigh* Thankfully I, besides from the thickness in my throat, felt fine...like I had a heavy cold but that's about it. The Dr. said that yes I had tonsillitis again but she also sent a swab to the lab to make sure exactly what type of bacteria I had so that I'd get the correct antibiotics and finally (hopefully) get rid of this annoyance!
The Dr. offered me to start a course of antib's on Monday but I said I'd wait it out, since I wasn't feeling too badly. Got a call yesterday morning that I definitely had whatever-it-was-called-beta-something growing and had to get the antibiotics a.s.a.p! Got the same type of meds as I did for the first case of tonsillitis but a bigger dose, so keep your fingers and toes crossed that this will be the end of it! :) I really would prefer not to have my tonsil's removed, thank you very much!

It's been aaaages since I last had any time over (not that I have any right now either) to blog. I've just been totally swamped with end of term schools stuff and last weekend we had the McK's over from Scotland! :D

SO great seeing my good old pal Nyki again, couldn't believe that it had been 4 ½ years since the last time we'd met up! Won't let that much time pass before we meet up again...
Despite the fact that Anton was being sick most of last Friday and Stephen was passed out in bed after being sick that same morning we had a brilliant weekend just chilling out and catching up. Lovely, lovely Christian who got the honours of mopping up Antons sick and still seemed like he was having a good break! ;)

Love having friends who understand what life as a parent can be like! :)

On Saturday Mum came to be with kiddies while us grown ups got a chance to have a meal and a drink in peace. Great meal, apparently an amazing steak, good laughs and brilliant company! :D

Sunday came way too fast and about lunch time it was time to say our goodbye's. :( Sad to see them go...SO glad they came and just hung out! :D Hope to see them again soon, whether in Sweden or back "home" in Scotland...

It was super timing as well, I've been going a bit mad with all the stuff I need to do/get done in school and I totally needed some breathing space which the McK's visit gave me. Good, really good to just NOT think about school stuff for a few days! :D

Early Thursday morning Stephen set of to Engelberg in Switzerland for his work "conference" ;) and won't be back until Sunday evening. It's sooo difficult to fall asleep without him there next to me! Miss my bed warmer... xxx
He deserves a break and I hope he has a really good time! :)

I really need to get back to my school work now before kiddies wake up... poor Anton has a fever! :/
*peace out* ;P

Nanny H? :)

Hmm...lots of things on my mind at the moment...

Found out this week that our school will offer at "course package" of educational (pedagogical?) courses adapted toward children for two terms (i.e. a year), starting in January. Basically if and when I get accepted and have finished with the courses I can work as a nursery nurse, a nanny. :) SO difficult to explain the Swedish school system in English! *sigh* :)

My goal is still to get my "slutbetyg" and apply to university and to study to become a teacher, most likely preschool teacher. This "class" I'm now hoping to get in to in January will just help me get the necessary points together and can be of good help in my university studies but also if for some reason I don't get in to uni or we find ourselves in a position, possibly financial with the world markets crashing all over the place, I still have a chance to work with what I want (kids!) rather than what I've sort of just got stuck in (sales).
Lots of rambling...did I make any sense?! Probably not! :)

I know what I'm talking about at least...I think... ;)

Tonsillitis...again...

Not written anything for a while... Busybusybusy with school, exams and assignments and all of us being more or less unwell for the last month. Both Anton and Stephen were on antibiotics beginning of October then Anton got the croup and fever the last week in Oct. The week after A's birthday I got tonsillitis and a heavy penicillin course, Erin had a off-and-on fever spell - I think due to her new teeth... I finished off my penicillin on Thursday last week and felt fine for two days and then miserable again on Sunday! *sigh*
So, back to the GP's yesterday and another, different, set of antibiotics - again for 10 days... missing another week of school, a history exam and stuff. Will get to do the exam again in two weeks time, probably good actually since I've had my hands full of everything else but the industrial revolution and WWI!
AND...Stephen's been feeling fairly rough too with sniffles and coughs etc but has, of course, not taken any time off work to get better... *double sigh*

Apparently 1 out of 7 get the tonsillitis back, if one has young children in daycare as well the chances are even higher. Yay for me!

Dagis (daycare) keeps *bleeep*:ing me off. Sorry, but I just don't understand how they can be soooo difficult to get along with!?!
I've tried the honest and straight-to-the-point approach, I've done the I don't give a damn approach and the follow the rules approach but they still don't seem "happy" and still manage to upset and annoy me!

WHY is it SO hard to and such a bother for them to do their job!?! Which is to mind my children when we're at work, school or sick...yes! I do have a RIGHT to childcare when I'm not well. It's a privilege that all countries don't have but we do and I am grateful!
It's my RIGHT and I shouldn't have to have a discussion about my rights when it's my *bleep*ing RIGHT!!! *argh!*

One teacher in particular seems to not know when to stop talking... I understand that she can't decide things for the whole dagis but then just say that and say that she'll get back to me with an answer. NO! She has to give me possible negative possibilities to my query and seem as uncooperative as she possibly can so that I leave there both upset, angry and confused...still...Anton's "group" don't seem to manage anything in her absence! Why!? WHY?!?!
In Erin's group there's rarely any problems... *sigh* I don't know...

I think I've said it before...for a person who hates conflicts and arguments I've had more issues of that kind since Anton started dagis about a year ago then I have had in my whole life previously... It can't keep going on the way it has been...I just don't know what to do about it right now...

Any hoot, ;) , time to get ready and pick little ones up! At least they LOVE the place so I should maybe just grit my teeth and stick it out....?

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to all dad's out there, or at least in Sweden! :)

Best, biggest, warmest wish of course goes out to Stephen the man in my life, the father of our children. You're the best!

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ We love you! ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

Now in blonde! :)

So, thought it was time for a change and Stephen, who never expresses any thoughts he has about my hair colour or clothes or whatever, suggested that I might go lighter this time!? :D Well, to me its like him saying pretty-please-with-sugar-on-top! ;)

Here's the result!

Birthday party

Anton's been waiting for his birthday for months now and has been super exited the last days coming up to it. Yesterday morning he wouldn't go down for his nap even though he'd fallen asleep late and woken up early, he must have been knackered but no, no sleeping! His excitement must have rubbed off on Erin because she only slept for 20 min tops!
Finally I manage to settle him just short of an hour before guests are due to start arriving, and that was just as well. For once everyone was here just about the same time and A must have gotten just the perfect amount of sleep since he had no probs waking up when Mommo and Anna where the firsts ones to arrive and he normally is very difficult to wake. :)

He got LOADS of toys! :D A police car, helicopter and motorbike, a fire engine, more duplo, a jigsaw and a book. Vaari (my dad) had made his "traditional" chair-with-chest for our prince to sit on, this year all grand kids have gotten one from him. :)
From us he got a blue watch which, beside the cake with strawberries on top, was the only thing he'd asked for for his birthday.

Coffee, cake (VERY tasty!) and singing for both him and my mum who's birthday it was yesterday. :) Our kiddes get along SO well with their cousins so they played "nice" while us adults got to have a good chat. :) A REALLY good day, topped of with a LARGE order of pizzas (12!) for dinner. :D
He had a brilliant birthday, of that I am sure! :)

Happy birthday Anton!

Where has the time gone? Three years and two and a half hour ago our little man was born and changed our lives forever, to the better! :) What a blessing and a joy he is and the best big brother Erin could ever have. They laugh, play and of course fight but the love between them is unmistakable!
Happy Happy Birthday to our Big Man! :)
Today we celebrate with a little party here at home with his very sought after cake with strawberries on top. Been asking for it for months now and thankfully we could still get nice strawberries at this time of year.
*phew* :)

112

Scary experience last night! Anton had fallen asleep at his regular time but been tossing and turning a little bit... At 10 he "woke up", a bit confused, half asleep still in a dream but with a terrible sounding cough and very wheezy breath. Thought it was strange that he'd gotten a sore throat so quickly, since he's been unusually cold free for the last couple of days.
It very quickly became clear he couldn't catch his breath properly so I called 112 (emergency no.) and they sent an ambulance. His colour was still good so no need for panic but it was scary enough... Stephen went with A to the hospital.
He called me after about an hour to let me know that Anton apparently has croup.

The thought crossed my mind when we were waiting for the ambulance...had in the back of my mind that "croup-cough" sounds like a barking seal and that's a very good description of the noise Anton was making just trying to breathe. I just thought that croup was something very young children get...that Anton was too "big" for croup - I guess not.

Glad it wasn't anything worse.
Felt terrible sending my little man off in the ambulance! :( He himself thought is was quite exciting to go in the "polisbil" (police car) :) and then that Vaari (my dad) came to drive them home again was also great. :)

Anton slept fine though the rest of the night and had a slight fever this morning. Still sounds a bit hoarse and has more "flu"-like symptoms...tired and feeling a bit sore all over. At least this is something I'm familiar with...last night I wasn't.

Erin's check-up

Last Friday Erin had her scheduled check-up, at 18 months it's time for the MMR and a basic development check. Building with blocks and holding the crayon and being able to point to her nose and ear etc. No probs there! :)
The nurse also asked about how many word she has (I think 8-10 is "normal") and I had to think hard and said well...she says mamma and pappa and Anton...ta-ta and...some animal-sounds as well... So she wrote 8-10 on her piece of paper...
As we were going through all the other stuff I kept remembering more and more words. Of course, Erin says this and that too and oh by the way she says this as well so the nurse laughed and looked at Erin and said,
"I'll just change this to more than 8-10 words since mummy obviously was telling fibs." :P

Our little now Missy is 86,5 cm "tall" and weighs 12,3 kg. That's 2.8 feet and 27.11 lbs (?). :/
Fairly sure that's not the correct way of writing height and weight and will confer with Stephen later to correct it! ;)

Getting the MMR went well too. She was not overly happy about it but when the nurse was done and gave her a biscuit she was soon happy again, I think she was more annoyed about me holding her tight than the actual jag.
We're to expect a fever about 10 days after MMR and possibly some viral spots too...so far so good. :)

Just one more week left of October...were in the world does the time go?
Next weekend Anton turns 3! Feels unreal...has it been three years already...? We're having a small birthday party on the Saturday, my mum and sisters and possibly a friend of mine (or two) will pop by but nothing bigger. Maybe next year we'll have a party for some of his friends but he still feels a bit too young for that...

I've been feeling slightly miserable this week, kind of have a cold but still not and a sore head but not and actual head ache so I'm not really sure how I feel. Am I getting better or worse...??
Tomorrow I'm going out for dinner with some friends. I don't get to see them that often after moving out to here for Gothenburg so I really don't want to get any worse! Been looking forward to this for a while now. If I keep popping my pills and herbal concoctions I might just be able to push me worsening 'til next week... ;)

Kiddies are asleep and Stephen is in bed too...migraine!
I need to get something to eat and get ready for possible play-date with Tara later!
Bye for now!

So...

Stephens "thing" that knocked him out wasn't "just" tonsillitis but an abscess. :/ He got so bad that on Sunday dad had to come and drive him to the hospital so he could get the antibiotics (and pain killers) he needed. Then on Monday after dinner he got chest pains (!) and was again given a lift to the A&E (thanks dad!) and thankfully it wasn't anything "worse" than gastritis. *phew*
Apparently the antibiotics get rid of all bacteria, even the good ones in your tummy so Stephen's reacted by giving him trouble! :/ He was given more pills to pop but is now starting to feel better...
Heavens forbid though that he would call in sick and just rest for a bit! No, not him - never, but especially not when starting on a new project here in Borås...which I sort of understand but...still...I'm checking up on him during the days to make sure he's taking it easy, at least as easy as he can so hopefully he'll be clear from bugs soon.
Then again, like he said, "Do you really think I'd be taking it easy at home will all the stuff I'm wanting to get done here?" Probably not! ;P

Any hoot, (new favourite expression!) Anton is finishing off his antibiotics at the weekend, Erin never got any worse with her sniffles and I'm still well so hopefully we'll have a small break before the next loads of germs attack! :P

School is also going well, I write with a bit of hesitance - what if I jinx it?!
I did very well on my History exam (must have told you already!?) and well on my Maths "assignment". The exam we had in Natural Science also went surprisingly well, got the highest grade - mvg! :D That's in a subject I'm convinced of is one of my weakest...? :)

Plans for the weekend? Well, it'd be nice if we could get some shopping done. I think Anton needs new shoes, they both definitely need new winter ones - even if it isn't that cold yet. Better spread the cost out a bit since they also need kitted out for the coming of winter wonderland which isn't the cheapest clothes to get. I need winter boots and a new warm coat too so starting now seems sensible. :)
Mum's (and Anton's) birthday is around the corner and we've sort of got her gift ready but need to make sure it's still in the store (and buy it!) or order a new one if they're out.
Probably, more than likely, we'll do something completely different from plans but it'll be good anyways! :)
LOVE having the weekend to look forward to...when I was just at home all the days just melted into each other and even if the weekend meant Stephen being home it didn't feel as "special" of a Family Time as it does when I've been doing "my thing" during the week too...

Time to wake little ones from their nap!

Pictures!

Still in Sweden but on our way. Stopped for a quick meal before heading to the airport.

Me! :P Waiting for train at Prestwick.

Mum and little sis on the train.

Stephen had sent me flowers to welcome me "home". xxx

Going out!

View from our window. Perfect location, at the top of the Mound.

This one was for Stephen! :) Traffic cones on top of statues are more common than you would think...almost so that you're surprised when one is missing their "hat". :)

Big sis and little sis with their shopping. Note huge Adidas sports bag, it was full!

Edinburgh Castle

Waiting, in front of Thomas Guthrie, for contact with families back home.

Being silly in front of webcam :P Guys in the background joined in!

Taking pics of Anna's new shoes! :)

Edinburgh!

So, last weekend we (mum, both sisters and me) were in Edinburgh for a quick shopping weekend. It was brilliant! It's been about three years since the last time and it still feels like coming home.
We had lots of good laughs and got a great deal of shopping done. Both sisters bought shoes like mad women, 5 and 6 pairs each!? :) I "only" got two pairs... :( The options in both size and fit are SO much better in Britain that I'm not surprised that they went "mad" when they finally had shoes to choose from! :) The notion that big (tall) girls have big feet seems to have been missed by the Swedish "shoe people"...
Any hoot...Good time, good, shopping, great flat (top of the Mound)!! Even tough it was only one room/kitchenette + bathroom w. shower, the four of us had no problems fitting in ourselves or all our shopping.
Only sad thing was that I didn't have time to meet up with any of my old "crew" *lol* or my "family" in Portobello. My dearest Nyki is bringing her hubby over in November so I'll see her before too long but I'm really sorry I missed the kids and B&G...hope our paths cross again in the near future! :)

The trip to/from Edinburgh via Prestwick/Glasgow also went very smoothly, a lot thanks to Stephens detailed planning for the journey. *blow kiss*
Got a very nice surprise when getting of the plane, Stephen came with the kiddies to pick me up! :D Glad I didn't have to take the train back home. :) And I got a lovely bunch of flowers to welcome me home! :)
I hadn't been away at all from Erin previously and very rarely ever been away from Anton or Stephen either, so I'd missed them a bit and was thrilled to see them there. Erin was already in her Mommo's (mums) arms and didn't seem "scarred" from me leaving her. :)

This week as just swooshed by! Loads to do in school at the moment and no time to do it in. Anton had a fever on Wednesday and was sent home from dagis, I stayed home on Thursday and he got antibiotics on Friday since he's got tonsillitis. Stephen has knocked out by (probably) the same thing today, had barely left the bed all day, and Erin has major sniffles but no "proper" fever and I'm probably just too busy with everyone/everything else to find the time to be unwell... :) Maybe next weekend? :)

I've managed to get some studying done tonight after putting kiddies to bed but it feels a little bit like the top of the ice berg so we'll see how I get on tomorrow and on my exam om Monday! :/

Now I'm going to bed! :)
Nightnight!

Time flies...

Oh my, it's been forever since I last wrote! Busybusy...

Anton's been on antibiotics again for his ears (inflammation no.8?). Niece Elsa turned 3! Where has the time gone...soon it'll be Antons turn!

Stephen took a wall down in the "basement", one more step closer to little ones (mummy and daddy) getting their own room. ;)

Had my first exam for the term, History. It's been almost 10 years since my last one so I studied like mad and had all exits covered...think I overdid it a bit. :) I did well, dare to say very well, remembering 2000 years of history. :D I also learn that my other subjects will still go just fine even if I'm not giving it 200% constantly...I can slow down a little bit and still do better than fine! :/ :)

Less than a week 'til we're off to Edinburgh!! :D Yay! I've got butterflies in my tummy with all the excitement of getting to go back "home" again. Also a little bit nervous about leaving kiddies with Stephen, not that he won't cope, just that I might miss them like mad!
It'll be just fine! :D
*repeating my mantra*
It'll be fine and I need this treat...have worked hard for it. ;)

Today we're off to my sister Susanna, our cousin Katti has just started selling Mary Kay stuff so we're going to be among her first "victims". :D Not sure I'll get any of the make up but it'll be nice to be girly for a bit. :)

Time to kick Stephen out of bed!

Until next time...

My lovelies... June 16th 2008

Tummy bug?

On Sunday I went to my good friend A's clothes-party (http://www.meandi.se/) It's like a Tupperware-party (everyone knows what that is, don't they?) but with clothes. :) Very popular in Sweden.
Anton was very upset to be left behind...not feeling very well and having a cough he managed to make himself sick from crying after I'd gone. S called me to hear what to do and we came to the conclusion that it's not going to help the situation if I come rushing back home...+ it'd take me at least an hour before I could be home. Anton just needed to calm down since he doesn't have a fever or is sick in any other way... Felt hard but he needs to learn to be with just his daddy and Erin once in a while too.

Got to where I needed to be and spoke to S again and Anton had fallen asleep again (?) from exhaustion or was he perhaps unwell anyway?
As soon as we were finished S called and said that he'd been properly sick, twice, after dinner so now I needed to head back. My wonderful little sis Anna (lots of A's!) came and drove me home so I didn't have to wait for the train etc.
Anton was looking awfully pale and was sick another couple of times before falling asleep for the night.
So, time for our first "who's staying home with the kids?"-talk... I felt like I really needed to go to school but S had all the stuff for the 10th anniversary party for his work in the back of his car so he had to go... Okay, my turn this time...but...perhaps...? Maybe Mommo...? I spoke to my mum and she too had a party in her "care" but it didn't need organizing until lunchtime so if S could go to work in the morning and be back before lunch? Yeah, that'd work... :) Good! No need to miss any school.
Anton slept all night through and was in good spirits when he woke up. Mum was here at 6.30, she'd woken up at 4.50 to drive Anna to work before driving all the way here... :O
LOVE my mum!
Got to school in time and when checking in on them after a few hours he'd eaten his breakfast with no problems and seemed tired but that was all...so...no tummy bug after all...? Or...?

Anyways...all had gone well with both Mommo and S when he took over but since Dagis want the child to stay at home for at least 48 hours after last sick to make sure it doesn't spread they're both at home today. I've got classes just late in the afternoon so S will come home some time after lunch. :)

So grateful to mum for helping us out yesterday and so glad that we managed our first me-not-being-at-home-full-time-kiddie-sickness so that all were happy with the solution. :)

2nd week...

Getting more into the swing of things now... Still stressing a bit too much on Mondays and Wednesdays when leaving kiddies to Dagis. Have to try and chill a bit 'cause it's not much fun starting our long days with me stressed out and not very patient. *shame on me!*

Anton LOVES walking in the rain with his whole rain wear gear on and I love that he likes it so much but it takes him at least twice the time to walk himself to dagis than if I was to take them in their pram and when we have to be at dagis at 7 o'clock I'm just not in the mood to leave the house at just after 6!

Our dinners have worked out much better after Stephen and I sat down last weekend and planned ahead a bit. :)

Had my first maths class to on Thursday evening (no spaces left in the day class) and I've realized that I must have a slight phobia for numbers or something because I was actually really nervous beforehand which I haven't been at any of my other classes. We got to do a diagnostic test (help!!) and I think I got most things right so I'm not completely clueless but I truly feel like everyone but me knows (and loves) numbers...
From what I've heard the teacher is really good and that's reasuring.

I'm still waiting for some, most!, of my books which is a bit annoying since some were ordered about a week and a half ago with "promise" of being delivered after a few days... *sigh*

Student! :)

What a busybusy week we've had! School and ordinary dagis-days started on Monday and I've barely had time to stop. Will take some time for all of us to get used to the new pick-up and dinner routines...a bit too much "cheating" going on in the food department this week. We've realized too late (with kiddes starving) that we need to go food shopping so we've just grabbed something quick (not necessarily healthy). This weekend I'll try and fill the freezer with home cooked meals that just needs heating through on those days when we all come home late and starving! :)

My schedule is alright, probably as good as I can get it to be honest. :) Even if Mondays and Wednesdays will be long days (7-5) at dagis for little ones I'll also have the time on those days to study at school rather than having to take the time to do it in the evenings. I don't have any classes on Fridays so no dagis then and if I've gotten all my studying done I can focus on just being a mum... :) Tuesdays and Thursdays are only half days (ca. 5 hours incl. food and sleep) at dagis. I'm sure it'll be just fine, just takes some getting used to I guess... :) I miss being with my babies...

Anton's been thrilled about getting to sleep and eat at dagis and Erin is always happy to see me come so at least she's not holding a grudge.

I've gotten my first few assignments done already and a bit nervous and exited at the same time to see what my teachers will think of them. It's been so long since the last time I had any homework that I've forgotten what layout and such (if any!) is expected and I don't know my teachers well enough either to know how they'll react if I've totally messed things up! :/

Anyways...I'm glad it's Friday and I'm home with kiddies and we've got the weekend ahead but I'm also looking forward to school again on Monday. :D

Engelberg!

Stephen came home yesterday with a note from work... :) No, he didn't need my signature for all the playing up he does at work! ;)

He's going on a "conference" in December...to Engelberg...(?) Where...? Skiing apparently, which they did last time away on "training" in Åre... Fair enough...hmm...flight!?! Must be very north of the country if they're flying there... Keep reading the info about the trip... WHAT!? ...to Zürich!? You're going to Switzerland!?! :O

That'll be interesting...conference...yeah right! Wonder how many of the guys (not Stephen if he knows what's good for him!!) will be stuck back home in Sweden or back in Zürich due to their intoxication levels being too high for boarding plane there/home?? :/

:) At least this should stop him moping about me going away to Edinburgh in September and leaving him all on his own... ;P ...now he'll owe me...again! *lol*

Big smiles!

When Erin saw me coming she gave me a huge smile and came running! No hard feelings then... ;) Just kisses and cuddles! All had gone well today and with that welcoming I was as happy as I can be. :D
Anton was poking at worms and looking at beetles with his teacher and other kids and wasn't at all interested in going home. :)

Now they're down for their nap and even if the house is just as quiet as it was when they weren't here I feel better now. :)

Childless...

So...the time is here...my baby and I are no longer attached... :) :( :) Yesterday we did a trial run at leaving the little ones with just nursery staff, while we sat in the staffroom, and it went very well for all. We were supposed to try for just half an hour but it went so well that they had them for a full hour. Today they wanted us to leave our children straight away... We first dropped Anton off at his group without any problems as per usual and then I went to leave Erin and I must admit my eyes were watering a little bit... My baby! She no baby, but her mum is!! :D
I handed her over to one of the staff and Erin looked a bit puzzled but not upset so I gave her a big kiss, said byebye and I be back later ("Mamma kommer sen" is what the staff say so that's what I do to...).
Wasn't sure if I'd dare to go any further than the library or cafe (2 min away from dagis) but I took a deep breath and started walking home (15 min away) and now I'm here! :P

I'm going to trust that the staff call if there's a problem and not call them myself to check. If I start checking in on her/them I'll not stop and I need to be able to focus on "my stuff" when I'm a school and not obsess about how things are at dagis.
It's hard though...because she's my baby...

One hour to go 'til I leave to pick them up... *counting down the minutes*

Wasp stings and Dagis days...

Anton got stung by a wasp today at dagis. On his ear, poor thing... :( It's not looking too bad, a bit red, and the dagis staff said he'd been very brave and wasn't upset for too long.

Erin's progressed from standing 1½ meters away from me to 2½ meters and even sat in one of the teachers lap for a little bit today. :) Moving along slowly... ;)
I do think she'd be fine if I just dropped her off there as long as there wasn't all the "madness" of all the other parents like it is now... She's never been a go-getter more happy to follow Anton along and chittering about her own stuff and but never shy...quiet at first if she's not sure of the situation (like now at dagis) but not unhappy. She will be just fine! :)

I'm slowly getting a bit more nervous about going back to school...I'm starting to "obsess" about silly things like my clothes and hair and if my schoolbag's cool enough...like being transported 15 years back in time! *lol*
Then I'm also not sure of the who's and how's of the registration that's happening on the 18th. I've got the time and place but not sure if I have to rapport to each class I'm going to or if I just show up and get a pile of paper (which you always do in Sweden!)... What about the books we need to get...should I maybe call next week (tomorrow even) so that I know what I need to get. Because surely it's going to be madness in the bookstores if all students run to get books at the same time...??? But if the info isn't out until we all get there the 18th then...?? Oh well, maybe we won't need any books the first few weeks if the store run out...?!
*deep breath*
I'll be just fine!
It'll all be just fine! :)

Erin's a big girl!

So, Dagis has started and all has gone well. Still haven't left her on her own yet, not until next week, and she's mainly been observing the other little ones an staying close to Mummy. She's not been clingy or even paid me that much attention but she stays close...just in case I guess. :)
We're there between 10-11 this week and between 9-11 next week. After that I suppose they're adjusted to all this new stuff... :/

There's 7 little ones doing their "practise run" this (and next) week and it does feel a bit...much. Since we're only there 1 hour in the morning I'm wondering why haven't they split the group up...? Must be very strange for the 2-3 "old" kiddies (rest are still on holidays etc.) to all of a sudden have 7 mum/dads and 7 little people come for an hour and then go home again. Strange...

Been thinking about getting in touch with the Rektor of the dagis and see how they'd planned this...because on top of being (in my opinion) a huge group to get "inskolad" at the same time, there's 2 out of 3 staff that are new to job...at least one of the new staff has never worked with children before!? The second one starts next week!
Next Wednesday they've said that they want us to leave the children as soon as we arrive and I'm having images of all 7 kiddies starting to cry and there being 3 staff to try and calm the situation... WHY not make it easier on themselves and divide the group up so that they'll only have 3-4 new children to deal with at the same time...??

Hmmm...

D day approaching...

Only three days left before Dagis starts again and Erin turns into a big girl! :O Well...turns and turns... :D She's kinda big already. ;) I'm sure it'll be just fine on Monday, wouldn't surprise me the slightest if Anton is the one having trouble adjusting to his new "big kids" group... It'll be a nice slow start for the three of us.

I've been slow on writing the last few weeks. It's been SO hot and I've been getting migraines from the heat and been feeling slightly miserable.
Last weekend we got a loan of a car (Stephen's boss's daughters "old" Audi A6 - she's getting a new one now that she's getting her license!?) and went to Falköping to celebrate my littlesisters boyfriend turning 30...wierd how we're all getting older... :D If the people around me (the same age as me!) stopped ageing then I'd still be 24...or 14? *lol* But when cousins who in my mind are about 8 have passed 20 a few years back I'm just having to accept that yes...I too am getting older! :P
Anyways...it was a great get-together and very nice BBQ! :D

This weekend we're going to Gothenburg (Partille actually) for my cousin Kati's wedding to her dear Chris. It's all 50s themed and it's going to be good to see who all has "dressed up" for the occasion. Bride will be gorgeous I'm sure, she's one of those people that would look great dressed in a plastic bag! :)
Both my sisters have bought themselves new 'frocks' to fit in but not being a dress sort of gal myself I've opted for red trousers and a blouse...hopefully my make-up will get me a "pass" into the 50s! ;) Hoping for a really good day on Saturday.

Then the inevitable Monday will arrive and... :´( ...we'll be juuuust fiiiiiine.... :D
*keep repeating new mantra*
Just fine... ;)

I'm just starting to realize...

My time as a full-time mummy is coming to an end... I've been home from work, with babies - full time, since August -05 and now I've got less than a month left... :(
I'm really excited (and a bit nervous) about going back to school at the end of August (not ready to go back to work yet - if ever!) and being with other grown-ups and without kiddies but at the same time it breaks my heart a little bit. :/ I've had very little time away from my babies, never a night away from Erin... I just can't believe that it's time to "let go" already!
I've only got two more weeks before dagis opens again and then they're both going! :O Erin will be there one hour a day for the first week and then two hours/day the following week. I think I need the slow start more than she does... ;)

At the same time I know that going back to school rather than work will mean that they'll not need to be at dagis for as many hours...
I also need to do this for me. I need to have some time that is just mine...

Anton LOVES dagis and I'm sure Erin will too so I'm not worried really...just a bit sad... :(

Going to Edinburgh!

It's booked! We're going to Edinburgh in September!! :D YAY! All girls weekend, with mum and sisters, full of shopping. Yay! :) Feels great to be going back "home" again! So happy!! :) We've gotten an apartment just off the Royal Mile, a stones throw from the Castle. Close to all the hustle and bustle...can't wait!! :)
No hubbies or kids for 4 days and 3 nights...2 whole days in my beloved Edinburgh! Not been away from Erin over night before... :/ She'll be just fine with her daddy though. ;) I really need (and deserve!) a bit of a break...been on maternity leave a bit long now and not had much/any time away for myself. It's going to be fantastic and I can't think of any other gal pals I'd rather go away with than mum and sisters. :) They're the best! :D

Tree chopping weekend!

:D Yes, chopping, not shopping! ;)

On Saturday my mum came over to watch the kids while Stephen and I attacked our bird-nest-looking apple tree. It's old and very very very unkept and we've (I've!) been thinking about the who's the how's the when forever. Since we were supposed to (haha!) get a reasonably cool day and mum could help out with kiddes we decided not to postpone it anymore.

No consideration taken to the effect on amount of loss of fruit and what's the "right" thing to do we aimed at it just looking alright, like an apple tree again. :D

It was HOT and clammy but we were not gonna be held back by that now that we'd finally taken the decision! Stephen climbed the tree and I stood below shouting directions (of which he ignored the most). :P
After a LONG, warm day about 2/3 of our big tree was gone and our "little" apple trees had also gotten a good trim.

Most of Sunday was spend hauling tree branches and twigs away and doing additional trimming of the trees, this time in occasional showers. End result is fantastic, the trees are (at the moment) looking really good! :D Healthy. :)

Took a during and after pic of the bird-nest-tree, will post it as soon as I've gotten them loaded onto computer! :)

Anton is off from dagis 'til August 4th when it's time for Erin to start kindergarten too... :( Time goes too fast...she really really really isn't a baby anymore. :)

Yesterday Susanna and her girls were over, kids swapped siblings for most of the day. Nice with a change I guess... :D Anton followed Julia everywhere copying everything she did and Erin toddled after Elsa in awe... :D
Nice, as always, to have visitors! :)

edited to add photos.

*cough*

Oh my, after midsummer we all seem to have caught some wierd bug! Susanna's family, Anna and our family have all experiensed the same sort of symptoms but slightly different. Since we all got it round about the same time we've decided to blame Boris who had the sniffles first! ;P No! I have no idea who's bug it is but anyways...hopefully this will be us all "sicked out" for the rest of the summer!

I wrote about the spots both kiddies got, at the weekend both had a couple of days of fever as well. Anton's spots are all but gone now and Erin's are fading. Just as they're getting better I'm starting to feel worse, I think I might have got an eye infection, my eye feels dry and a bit irritated, but it hasn't really come out properly yet so we'll see... My voice is very squeeky and I have a not very nice sounding cough (same as kiddies) but as long as I don't get any worse Anton will finally get to go to dagis tomorrow! Poor thing, he misses it so much and now he'll only get to go two days before they're closed for 4 weeks...

The weather's getting better again after a well needed couple of weeks of overcast weather with showers...our lawn is green again! :)

Need to grab myself some lunch now before kiddies wake up from snooze!

Becoming a student again...

...has been quite stressful even before I've started. :P There is so much bureaucracy one has to deal with, for grants and loans and etc. It's "expected" of you to already know everything about a system you haven't previously had to deal with... *sigh*

They wanted my answer back by tomorrow which left me with less than a week to sort things out... For example they'd put me on two evening classes since the day classes were already full and that really isn't working out for us... So I've been trying to figure out what the best solution would be and in that "search" for that I've learnt that I could/should have done quite differently if I'd had some of this new information to begin with. *sigh*

:D Oh well...I went to the school to speak to them face to face this morning. After talking things through with Stephen last night I've decided to just agree to the classes being the way they are and have also applied for additional classes. That means that I've got some leeway when it comes to changing thing about and around etc when school begins in August. The way I had things I was very close to ending up not having enough points to get my study grant if I had any changes made... Things are sorted, for now!
Feels good to have the papers in but I'm sure I'll get all stressed out about something else about school soon enough! ;P

Midsommar etc.

12 adults and 4 kids spent their Midsummer weekend at "the cabin". :D Good times! :D Still plenty of space for more guests... :D

Weather wasn't the best, very windy, but when the sun was out it was actually quite warm.

We drove home on Saturday evening to avoid the horrible end-of-weekend-rush and I think it was probably a good idea because there was hardly any traffic on our way home. On Sunday when we went to see Stephens work mate, his girlfriend and baby Emilia (only had a half an hour drive away) the traffic was much worse...would not have been a good trip home if we'd stayed at the cabin...

CuteCuteCute and asleep is my impression of 4 week old Emilia, cute! Awww...
Our monkeys went wild in their not-yet-childproofed home. :O Glass ornaments in "perfect" reach for both kiddies, big plant pots on the floor and lots of "fun" little brick-a-brac on the livingroom table etc. :P I don't think they managed to break anything! *phew*
Good visit anyways and I'm thrilled to have gotten to sniff a bit of tinsy-tiny-baba...

Anton and Erin are both covered in spots. :/ No fever - just a cold and according to the nurses at vårdcentralen (the gp's) yesterday Antons rash (Erin got her spots today) is a viral rash (?) common when kiddies have a cold...

Since we all are a bit sniffly Anton hasn't been going to dagis this week, last week is last one before holidays and before he's moved up to the bigger kids group. Hope he's better next week so he'll get to have a bit of a practise run with the older kids before autumn...

By the way...I've gotten my acceptance papers to go back to "school" in August! Yay!?! :D Not sure how to translate it but my online dictionary calls it "upper secondary school"... Well, I've got some grades to get sorted before I can even think of applying to University or College (or whatever the equivalent is), to begin with I just want the kids not to have to go long days at dagis... :) What I'll do when I grow up we'll deal with at a later point. ;)

Almost time for lunch... Hopefully the windy weather will keep the evil gnats away and we can go outside for a bit later on.

Slightly stressed...

Still found time to sitt here though... ;)

So today we're going up to the "our cabin" (actually my aunts house) for midsummer celebrations. We had everything well planned, to pack everything after kids gone to sleep last night... Then like always with children, plans are no good! Erin was woken up by an Anton-monkey so we got nothing packed/organized at all since she was up 'til 11.
If you didn't already know...there's a lot to pack when you've got two kiddies...not just throw some stuff in a bag and manage if you've forgotten something like you did before there were kids. NoNoNo...you need nappies and bottles and clothes and doodies etc. etc. etc...
Anyway...my thought was then that Erin always sleeps for about 2 hours after I've left Anton at dagis so I should at least get a good start on it when she's down...but NO, she had a short snooze on our way to and from dagis and was wide awake when we got home. *sigh!*

Thankfully they're both down now *phew* (that's one thing you can count on with kids...they'll not be awake forever! ;) ) and I've gotten to go downstairs and organize stuff in peace and there's still stuff to remember to bring and pack but I hope my "cheat sheet" is correct and we'll get it all done in a jiffy when S comes home. ;P
Then dinner and pack the car (not our one, it still "unwell", got a loaner) and give Erin her bottle and on with their pj's and off we drive into the sunset... :D

Better grab myself some lunch before they wake!

To those who know what I'm on about... ;) Have a great Midsummer weekend!

Visiting the City

My hair looks alright even though I was "supposed" to lighten it first before putting this particular shade in it... oh well! I didn't want that much of a change anyway, just add bit of life to it and mission accomplished!
Its been years since I last coloured my hair...so I'm quite chuffed it looks OK and that it didn't turn green on me! :D Not a big change at all, but just enough for me to notice. :)

Saturday was SuperSaturday in Gothenburg with MonsterTruckRally and STCC in town. + the football as well of course... We decided to head in early and hopefully stay clear of some of the madness. Good call I think, we had no problems on either train into the city or on the buses and trams.
My friend Linda's little girl turned 1 last week and we were invited to the birthday party. It's been almost 10 months since we last met up so I wouldn't have missed this for the world. Linda and her hubby are so good a planning parties, big and small, and make everything look so easy. They're a good team I guess, Stephen and I would most likely fall out if we had to change all our plans last minute....they took it in stride! :D Instead of the outdoor BBQ in the sun that they'd planned we all squeezed into their apartment and had an in-from-the-cold fry-up. :D
Good food, good company, lots of guests and a big bunch of kids and all were in a good mood. Thought that the kids would have tired after a bit but all were happy and playing nice. :D
Birthday girl was as cute as can be and a total sweetheart!

After the party was over we made a quick stop at Mommos (i.e. Granny). Its been ages (again!) since I was last at mums...we always seem to met up at S&B's or here at home, rarely at hers. Coffee and bun + a big bowl of strawberries was about what we had time for before heading home again.
Anton loved going on the tram! :) All transfers ran smoothly and kiddies fell asleep on the bus to Borås and still slept like little piggies when we put them into their beds...

Sunday was just a stay-at-home get-things-tidied kind of day... Good weekend all in all! :)

June 2008. :)

Play dates, busrides and haircuts...

On Wednesday my very good friend A came over with her little girl Elisia. A and I have know each other for 15 years (I think that's what we agreed on) and with us having our little ones and moving out of town we don't get to meet up nearly as often as we would like. So even if her E is the same age as our E it was more of a mum-date than a kiddie-date... :)
We just stayed at our house all day, except for picking up Anton from dagis of course... Just hanging out with your best girlfriend is enough, no need for activities... :D Kiddies took turns in sleeping which kept the play noise to an acceptable level and also gave us a good chance to just be as well. After naps and lunches we were out in the garden for a bit, again...LOVE having a sandpit!! ;D Then it was time for them to start heading back home... A good visit and hopefully it won't be too long before we get to hang out again!

Yesterday I had another play date! :D Two in a week is not bad for lazy-bum-friends-too-busy-too-far-away-Erika! ;P This time with two mums I've met over the net on a English speaking mums forum. Tara (with little Christian and Ella) I've met a few times already and this time Emma (with "baby" Lilja, a couple of months younger than Erin and Christian) joined us too... The zoo here is excellent to visit with kids of any age... :) The playgrounds are built and planned very well so that you can just let them play on their own and still see what they're up to.
Ella and Anton being the same age got into a bit of pushing and shoving but made up and seemed to not hold a grudge. Kärlek börjar med bråk... is a "saying" in Swedish... roughly translated it means Love begins with a tiff ... :D
Tara's husband Anders came and picked their little ones and she was kind enough to give me and mine a lift home. Much quicker than with the bus and since the bus ride into town was...interesting...I was happy to go with other transportation.

Bus driver in to town drove like he was running from the police! Breaking heavily and driving all over the place...at one point he "missed" a person waiting at the bus stop and stood on the breaks, I flew across the seat (as did other passengers) onto our pram and Thank God "only" bruised myself and didn't hurt the kids...was just so thankful that they hadn't been flattened me so I didn't even get angry until we were well off the bus and at the zoo. I should have given him a good piece of my mind driving like that but I was just so shocked. Will send them a letter of complaint though...be sure of that!

Today I had an appointment at the local hairdresser...there's only the one nearby and I really didn't like what she did the last time I was there but... There is just not enough time (and I just can't be bothered) to make an appointment in town 'cause having to take the kids with me or getting a late enough time so S can take them or going at the weekend when we don't have the car...no... I just needed my hair trimmed a little bit and I thought that surely she should be able to manage that! She did...just... ;) My hair was in such a state that she couldn't really have made it any worse but she's just fairly...bad... :P Only-when-desperate type of hairdresser in my opinion.
Hair feels better though and I'll give it some colour tonight and should feel a bit more "presentable" for birthday party we're going to tomorrow. :)

Now its time to wake kiddies (who btw behaved very well just sitting in their pram at hairdressers) and make them something to eat.

Bye!

Sandbox...

Temperature has been a bit more bearable...well, its been more windy today which feels cooling. *phew* "They" have promised us a cloudy day tomorrow and even cooler still on Wednesday...possibly even rain! :O Barely rebember what rains like which I never thought I'd say after the wet, horrible winter we "just" had...

Today I'm thankful for sandboxes! :)
What a difference it makes to being out in the garden with kiddes, to have a sandbox to pop them in! :D They're happy, I'm happy, they're getting sand everywhere, I don't mind, they're getting dirty, I'm reading my book in the sun, they're happy...I'm happy... :D Life's good...
Right now...today...ask in another 5 minutes and I might have changed my mind! ;P

Yes, today I'm grateful for sandboxes and swings...

Happy Days!

:) Yesterday turned out to be a really good day! :D Even if Anton woke us all up at 5.15... *yawn* Stephen got up and got them their bottles while I lazied about for a little bit. Still got up at about 6 so no lie in there... Good idea anyway, we got tidied and ready for our visitors before it got too hot. :)

It was truly a warm & hot day, but the kiddies played (mostly) nice and were being cute in the paddle pool. We sent our hubbies off to get stuff to BBQ and stayed out of organizing everything, surely they can manage to prepare food without us...? And they did! ;D Yum-O! :P Lovelylovely food, salad and then whipped cream, strawberries and meringue for dessert. LOADS of dishes, as it usually gets when 5 adults and 4 kiddies get together for a meal, SO thankful for having a dishwasher... I think having it is what keeps me on the "sane" side most days... ;)
Good day, definitely! Just chilling in the sun (later on in the shade), getting to talk in reasonable peace from kiddie-interference, eating good food, in good company... :)

Today hasn't really gotten started yet and I'm already warm. All but me are down for a nap. ;D Then we'll do lunch and do something...what, I don't know...we'll see...

Happy National Day!

Lovely Lovely hubbie!

Yesterday Stephen came home with two fully loaded bags from the English Shop (quavers, chocolate & biscuits etc.) + "dinner" from Subway! AND he'd finally gotten new sand for the kiddies sandpit (which needed changing since we had to kill off some ants in it last summer)!!
Sometimes he just gets everything just right! :D

Sanna and family + Mommo are coming over later today! :) Will have a BBQ if we can be bothered in the heat... :P
"Baby" sis is going to partyparty with friends. Ah! The life as it was before the wee ones... :D

Now MissE Munchkinette is awake, they've been (Anton still is) sleeping an early nap today...woke up at 5.15 this morning! *yawn*

Better be off!

Hothothot...

Summer is definitely here! The heat is to last at least the remainder of the week. Temperatures just below or at 30 degrees... *phew* Hothothot...

Not a great fan of WARM summers...Stephen even less... ;) When I was younger I liked them more since all you needed to do during summer holidays was lazy at/in the lake... Now we've got to keep the kids safe and entertained which brings a sweat to my brow even on cooler days! :P

Grass and other "greens" are turning yellow from lack of rain...will look like its autumn soon enough if the heat persists.

Tomorrow is Swedens National Day...a holiday just in the last couple of years. Always celebrated at school with songs etc. but what do we do now...as grown-ups?? :) What traditions, if any, should we start for ourselves and the kiddies...?
Stephen's of work which is nice, don't think that can be classed at a "Tradition" though...? ;)

Will speak with Big sis Sanna tonight and see if we'll just do what we always end up doing when not sure of what we should do... *lol*
Get together, let our kids play, possibly cook some food (tacos? :( bbq?! :)) ... :D

Like I said to Sanna when we last spoke of the "lack of traditions" (at Easter I think it was) in our family, she has the same "problem" in hers...
Traditions are for people who have to have a celebration, a special day, as a reason to get together with their loved ones...since our family spend so much time together anyway, anytime of the year, we simply don't "need" any fancy traditions! :D We've got each other! Awwww.... :P

Another warm day...

Erin's teething... 3 molars (?) at the same time...not much fun for our little missE. They're slow to cut through so they've been torturing her for a while now...

Stephen never got to meet up with his workmate yesterday so he's been there today instead and should be home any minute.

Warm day today too...waited 'til after dinner before letting kiddies out to play. Constantly worried about giving our little ones sunstroke, sunburn and/or cancer! :O Especially since if I let Anton outside after lunch he's impossible to get inside again without a major tantrum and with it being SO hot right now I just rather wait 'til later in the day when he can monkey about in the garden 'til his hearts content! :) I have to choose my battles...

Lured them in today with promises of grapes! ;) Went easier than I would have dared to think... Even mummy can be surprised once in a while I guess. :D

Getting close to bedtime now and hopefully a good play in the fresh air and a tummy full of grapes should knock them out without to much trouble, but just because I think it should go smoothly I'm sure they'll both be up 'til 9. :P

My side of the family are back today from a trip to Finland. My twin cousins gratuated from (according to my dictionary) upper secondary school this weekend. Can't believe their off to University soon...they'll always be about a year old to me. :)

Better be off now, S is home and kiddies are set for bed.
Nightnight!

27 degrees in the shade!

Whoa...another hot day today! The weekend was the same... Actually all of last week was warm too! Good thing we got the paddle pool for the kiddies last summer (when the weather sucked!) they LOVE being in it splashing about. :) Cools them off well for bed time too.

When I left Anton to dagis (daycare) today he was wearing t-shirt and shorts...it was 20 degrees outside at 8 o'clock!?
So difficult to know what to put on the kiddies when it's this warm outside. Recommendations are to keep them out of the sun but you just try to keep a energetic 2½ year old and a 14 month old just in the shade! I don't think so! :D Not possible and anyone who says it is must have them tied to a tree!! :P

Difficult to find clothes that fully cover them without being too warm. I've had to "give up" on my fight against the sun. Even Erin gets to wear t-shirts and shorts in the sun, instead I keep them inside during the hottest time of day and put on plenty of sunscreen when we're outside.

We're waiting for Stephen to come home from work "soon", good time to let the kiddies run loose! ;) The lawn need watering as well after us not having had any rain for weeks. Job for mummy I think...he can run after the munchkins for a while. :P

He's (Stephen that is) is swinging by a workmates on his way home... They've just had a new baby girl and S's dropping off a gift to little baby Emilia.
To use my good friend R's words "my womb skipped a beat" when I saw all the tinsy tiny baba clothes in the shop yesterday...broody!?! :O Yes! ...but then again...noooo....
I can't help that I'm addicted to babies...the smell, the feel, the noise the... the... the everything about those helpless, adorable, tiny little human beings!
And again NO! no more babies for us...yet...at the moment, but hopefully we'll be blessed with babies again in H household in the future.
Just have a hard time believing that Anton and Erin have ever been that small! :)

Now in English!

Well...I thought I'd give it a go and start blogging in English... :D

It'd give friends and family who don't know Swedish a chance to follow what's going on in our lives. I already blog in Swedish at familjeliv.se so keeping a double blog seems a bit unnecessary...

Hopefully I'll still keep posting! ;D It'd be a shame if I'd manage to scare myself off my own blog! ;)

Never been a everyday- or even every-other-day-blogger but I normally get a handful of posts in a month.

Warm welcome to new readers!

Sovmorgon!? :)

Inget ovanligt tydligen men trist...

Så kommer jag komma ihåg Sam.

Vila i frid Sam.
