BusyBusyBusy!

HotHotHot! My brain can just about function for all the schoolwork I've got in this heat...I truely hope that we'll get some of the promised rain today...and tomorrow! :)

We've done plenty lately but I just can't start trying to remember 'cause then I'll not be able to do my assignment for this week. ;) Analysis of a short story and a poem + final theory exam on Friday!! :/ *sigh*

I'm going to have my morning coffee outside, because it is lovely outside, look for the rainclouds and then hit the books...

Ah! Midsummer!

:P Forgot to say a few words about our midsummer... *scatterbrain!*

We had a really lovely time in Gullered, half an hours drive from home. Good food, well behaved kiddes, new acquaintances were made and all over a good visit! :) We stayed the night and headed back home again about lunch time. Short and sweet! :)

If we'd gone up to the "cabin" we wouldn't have come home so soon and it really felt like it suited us fine. Nice to be home and we also had enough energy to take a drive to Gothenburg on Sunday to see how mum's new flat looked after the paint job. Very Nice! :) We got some left over paint that'll come in handy for kiddies bedroom! :D

So! Now I'm off to my books again! xx

Taking a wee break...

Another week of crazy amount of reading an writing! Spoke with the teacher again yesterday, as I've still not gotten the assignment done and she thought that I'm over thinking it (which wouldn't be the first time) and to take a break, focus on this weeks huge assignment and return to (and finish) the other one in a few days. So, that's what I've done... Feels like she took the time to listen to me this time and realised I'm not trying to get out of doing it 'cause I'm lazy and/or stupid. :P

ReadingReadingReading and then WritingWritingWriting tomorrow - Friday... what an enormous thing they're making us do for a book review!?! Madness!
But, feels like I at least will get it done this week... *fingers crossed*

Then one more week with another assignment + final exam and the...done! *phew* Then roll on Religious Studies and Psychology! :/

Mad week...

Erin was home both Monday and Tuesday. With that and S's doctor's appointment on Mon. I really didn't get much studying done and the assignment for this week is...ok...but SO much you can read and do with it and I'm just totally stuck! :/ I mean...I get it, I understand it, I've sort of done it before so it's not like I'm lost, just terribly stuck!!

I called the teacher to get feedback from last weeks assignment and perhaps some help to get started with this weeks but she was NO help! :[ Hmmm...would almost like to call her the B-word but I won't! Less than helpful to say the least...
I'm basically handing my assignment in late (hopefully on Sunday), 'cause I really really need to give my poor head a break from all this Age of Enlightenment-stuff!

Tomorrow's Midsommarafton and rather than driving three hours to my Aunts "cabin" where we usually celebrate we've opted for a closer-to-home-version this year. We're going up to S's friends again for a smallish but still (hopefully) a really enjoyable Midsummer. :) It's a bit of a pot-luck-version and we're bringing the obligatory new potatoes! :D

More about the week that's gone by...? Erin was happyhappyhappy going back to dagis on Wednesday. Midsummer celebrations there as well, will post pics a.s.a.p! Very very cute! :)

I've again felt really tired! I think I need to get my eye's checked...maybe all this sitting in front of the computer and the books have finally taken it's toll on my eyes...? I need to not be so tired all the time! I'm...well apart from tired...grumpy and moody, not the usual time-of-the-month-stuff either and I feel terrible for taking it out on everyone...which I do! :/
Definitely time to bring out, happy, smiley, energised mommy!! :)

Happy Midsummer!

Longish practice drive!

Yesterday the kiddies were throwing tantrums left and right and my patience was running out... S suggested a drive to a friend of his and first I wasn't in the mood to do or go anywhere with my mini trolls! Realised soon enough that we could all do with getting out and about, and that it'd give me a nice wee practice drive too.

Good call! :) We all had a really nice time, kiddies got to play with S's friends kiddies and they were all well behaved and promptly fell asleep in the car on our way home. Nice... :)

Last night was no fun though! :/ Dodgy tummy and spent most of the night in the bathroom, a bug or dodgy pizza? Don't know, but after getting (taking!) a few hours of rest in the afternoon I feel much better.

Erin has a temperature, still in good spirits though, so she'll not be going to daycare tomorrow. I normally would keep Anton home as well (even though he's allowed to go between 9-2) but S has his first doctor's appointment at outpatient clinic and I was hoping to be able to go too...bringing both little ones would be a bit much so AND I do have school work to do as well...hmmm...well...we'll see...

:/

Well...I didn't do my homework last night but I did get it done today! :)

Yesterday whenever I got the kiddies from daycare Erin's teacher took me aside (felt quite "serious") to have a wee chat... Apparently Erin's a bit rough with the other kids, pushing and pulling etc. and she "just thought I should know..." :/ I tried to find out if it's any specific time of the day or in a certain situation but she said it happens any time really. :/ I also asked how they "correct" her when she does it and was told that she's of course told not to be rough but they don't want to push her to apologise "because it's a difficult situation for Erin as well"...so I really didn't get anywhere with the whole thing.
I feel like I can't have a intelligent conversation with this teacher either because she speaks to me (an everybody else) like I'm 3 years old and it's, as you might imagine, quite frustrating!

I'll see if I can possibly speak to one of the other ones about it today. They only have 7 kid there today so we'll see if perhaps that's the issue - the size of the group but... I was sort of left feeling responsible for something that I can't do much about. Erin's not like that at home - even if she and Anton can play a bit rough at times.

How am I supposed to raise her, correct her, when I'm not there?

She's obviously frustrated about something (with the pushing and pulling) but I can't say what since I'm not there... It's not possible to reason with her after the fact since she is only 2 years old, I could talk to Anton about it but not yet with Erin...

Hoping to get some more answers about it today.

*sigh*

Feeling off today...having a hard time getting on with my homework. I'm finished, and pleased, over the first part (of two) but can't seem to get started with part two! :/ Everything else seems more interesting than school, but the assignments due in tomorrow and I'm getting more and more stressed (go figure!). It's not that it's too hard or very complicated, I'm just stalling and getting annoyed about it so I should just do it but then again I'm here blogging about nonsense instead...! :/

*sigh*

I'm gonna give it a go! A cup of tea and a sandwich and sit down with my book! ...hopefully...!

Mrs Scatterbrain!

That's me!
I must have lost my brain somewhere in all the Swedish homework 'cause I didn't even mention that S was signed out from the hospital!?! He was signed out on Friday so he's home now, outpatient treatment from now on...! :) He's got his first appointment there on Thursday.

Last night we also found out that Försäkringskassan have decided to pay his sick pay after all!? The money was suddenly in our account. I noticed it after I had logged in to pay a bill.
After logging in to fk's page too it clearly said that it was sick pay for the period Feb.18 - May 4! :D

S hasn't even sent in the "official" letter that he's supposed to, that was on the to-do-list this week...!
They must have decided to put it through the appeal process themselves after they received the angry letter from the senior doctor that gave S his bipolar diagnosis...! BUT they haven't told us (or S) about it...which I find a bit peculiar... ???

It's gone through in super speed too 'cause the woman I spoke to at fk just last week told me that it normally takes 6 weeks for it to be processed but now it's up at 3 months...so I wasn't expecting this money to come through until September!
...The Dr. sent them the letter 4 weeks ago!!

We were both at loss for words last night but so so SO relieved...! :)

Happy National Day!

Trevlig Nationaldag!

That time has come around again and since I'm not a big "flag-person" (is there even such a thing?) I thought I'd post something different than the usual blue and yellow flag against the bright blue sky... :)

Again it feels a bit "sad" that we (as a nation) don't have a more special national day, something like in Norway or perhaps the U.S. but then again... Like with all these "must-do-something" holidays... I seem to spend them with my family, just like any other day, and for that I am grateful! Couldn't think of a better way to celebrate - whether it be a special day or just an ordinary day.

Hope you have a great day with your loved ones too! xxx

New hairdo!

Oh yes! Forgot (of course!) to post about my new hairdo...! :) I've been considering cutting it short for a while now and with all that's been going on I really felt I needed a "lift", so I went and had it cut on Monday! :D Put colour in it too, being a poor student I did that myself - red, and I feel great! *lol* Just what I needed!
I do feel very "late 90s me", was sort of my standard 'do and colour back then but everyone says it looks good even in the new millennia ;) so I try no to dwell on it. :P

Only down-side with the new 'do is that I look CraZy in the mornings! I laughed out load seeing myself in the mirror the morning after!! Definately not a look I'd want to have to answer the door in... *lol* Or what do you think?!? ;)

Sooo...catching up.

This week has been a bit mad, I've finally gotten some of my energy back after the antibiotics kicked in! :) My distance course started with a TON of reading, for my first writing assignment the instructions were "Start by reading page 58-84 and 145-147, also read chapter 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 17, 18, 19..." :O And that was just for the first part of the assignment! :D Oh well, got through it and I think I'm "done", just waiting for my sisters input on it.

The reading above is just a tiny bit of all of the reading I've had to do so far, still have about 15 pages to read 'til tomorrow! *lol* I also went to the library this morning and got myself a book which will need to be reviewed in three weeks. "Pengar" by Victoria Benedictsson, who's apparently one of Sweden's greatest authors in the 1800's, alongside the likes of August Strindberg - looking forward to the read. :)

Stephen's been home on leave since Sunday and it has gone so much better than the previous visits! :) He was due back on Tuesday but after the Dr. had spoken to him she recommended him to "not break a good 'habit' " and he came back home again. :D He's by no means GREAT but good, as good as can be expected, and that feels great! :)
I'm hoping he'll come back home again after his visit to the Dr's tomorrow morning and I suppose if nothing drastic happens with his mood that he will. :)

We've also gotten help with fighting Försäkringskassan for Stephen's sick pay and that has lifted a great weight off both our shoulders. Stephen had a lovely light smile on his lips afterwards and that felt fantastic, it's been a long struggle which we're starting to see the end of.

Kids are off dagis today, or S had to pick them up while I was at the library 'cause Anton's tummy had not been good and he felt a bit warm (no fever though!) and they've also finally finished the renovation of the place so the little ones will be home tomorrow too while they're moving things around and back at nursery.

BlahBlahBlah...feels like I'm just rambling now so I'll finish now!

All my best to you all!

E.

May photos.

Elsa and Julia came to visit, 30th May, first bath of the summer in the paddling pool.

Charlie & Ossie

Long overdue playdate with Elisia 23rd May.

When the weather's good, Anton finally gets a chance for a proper run on the bike. 2nd May.
