2nd week...

Getting more into the swing of things now... Still stressing a bit too much on Mondays and Wednesdays when leaving kiddies to Dagis. Have to try and chill a bit 'cause it's not much fun starting our long days with me stressed out and not very patient. *shame on me!*

Anton LOVES walking in the rain with his whole rain wear gear on and I love that he likes it so much but it takes him at least twice the time to walk himself to dagis than if I was to take them in their pram and when we have to be at dagis at 7 o'clock I'm just not in the mood to leave the house at just after 6!

Our dinners have worked out much better after Stephen and I sat down last weekend and planned ahead a bit. :)

Had my first maths class to on Thursday evening (no spaces left in the day class) and I've realized that I must have a slight phobia for numbers or something because I was actually really nervous beforehand which I haven't been at any of my other classes. We got to do a diagnostic test (help!!) and I think I got most things right so I'm not completely clueless but I truly feel like everyone but me knows (and loves) numbers...
From what I've heard the teacher is really good and that's reasuring.

I'm still waiting for some, most!, of my books which is a bit annoying since some were ordered about a week and a half ago with "promise" of being delivered after a few days... *sigh*

Student! :)

What a busybusy week we've had! School and ordinary dagis-days started on Monday and I've barely had time to stop. Will take some time for all of us to get used to the new pick-up and dinner routines...a bit too much "cheating" going on in the food department this week. We've realized too late (with kiddes starving) that we need to go food shopping so we've just grabbed something quick (not necessarily healthy). This weekend I'll try and fill the freezer with home cooked meals that just needs heating through on those days when we all come home late and starving! :)

My schedule is alright, probably as good as I can get it to be honest. :) Even if Mondays and Wednesdays will be long days (7-5) at dagis for little ones I'll also have the time on those days to study at school rather than having to take the time to do it in the evenings. I don't have any classes on Fridays so no dagis then and if I've gotten all my studying done I can focus on just being a mum... :) Tuesdays and Thursdays are only half days (ca. 5 hours incl. food and sleep) at dagis. I'm sure it'll be just fine, just takes some getting used to I guess... :) I miss being with my babies...

Anton's been thrilled about getting to sleep and eat at dagis and Erin is always happy to see me come so at least she's not holding a grudge.

I've gotten my first few assignments done already and a bit nervous and exited at the same time to see what my teachers will think of them. It's been so long since the last time I had any homework that I've forgotten what layout and such (if any!) is expected and I don't know my teachers well enough either to know how they'll react if I've totally messed things up! :/

Anyways...I'm glad it's Friday and I'm home with kiddies and we've got the weekend ahead but I'm also looking forward to school again on Monday. :D

Engelberg!

Stephen came home yesterday with a note from work... :) No, he didn't need my signature for all the playing up he does at work! ;)

He's going on a "conference" in December...to Engelberg...(?) Where...? Skiing apparently, which they did last time away on "training" in Åre... Fair enough...hmm...flight!?! Must be very north of the country if they're flying there... Keep reading the info about the trip... WHAT!? ...to Zürich!? You're going to Switzerland!?! :O

That'll be interesting...conference...yeah right! Wonder how many of the guys (not Stephen if he knows what's good for him!!) will be stuck back home in Sweden or back in Zürich due to their intoxication levels being too high for boarding plane there/home?? :/

:) At least this should stop him moping about me going away to Edinburgh in September and leaving him all on his own... ;P ...now he'll owe me...again! *lol*

Big smiles!

When Erin saw me coming she gave me a huge smile and came running! No hard feelings then... ;) Just kisses and cuddles! All had gone well today and with that welcoming I was as happy as I can be. :D
Anton was poking at worms and looking at beetles with his teacher and other kids and wasn't at all interested in going home. :)

Now they're down for their nap and even if the house is just as quiet as it was when they weren't here I feel better now. :)

Childless...

So...the time is here...my baby and I are no longer attached... :) :( :) Yesterday we did a trial run at leaving the little ones with just nursery staff, while we sat in the staffroom, and it went very well for all. We were supposed to try for just half an hour but it went so well that they had them for a full hour. Today they wanted us to leave our children straight away... We first dropped Anton off at his group without any problems as per usual and then I went to leave Erin and I must admit my eyes were watering a little bit... My baby! She no baby, but her mum is!! :D
I handed her over to one of the staff and Erin looked a bit puzzled but not upset so I gave her a big kiss, said byebye and I be back later ("Mamma kommer sen" is what the staff say so that's what I do to...).
Wasn't sure if I'd dare to go any further than the library or cafe (2 min away from dagis) but I took a deep breath and started walking home (15 min away) and now I'm here! :P

I'm going to trust that the staff call if there's a problem and not call them myself to check. If I start checking in on her/them I'll not stop and I need to be able to focus on "my stuff" when I'm a school and not obsess about how things are at dagis.
It's hard though...because she's my baby...

One hour to go 'til I leave to pick them up... *counting down the minutes*

Wasp stings and Dagis days...

Anton got stung by a wasp today at dagis. On his ear, poor thing... :( It's not looking too bad, a bit red, and the dagis staff said he'd been very brave and wasn't upset for too long.

Erin's progressed from standing 1½ meters away from me to 2½ meters and even sat in one of the teachers lap for a little bit today. :) Moving along slowly... ;)
I do think she'd be fine if I just dropped her off there as long as there wasn't all the "madness" of all the other parents like it is now... She's never been a go-getter more happy to follow Anton along and chittering about her own stuff and but never shy...quiet at first if she's not sure of the situation (like now at dagis) but not unhappy. She will be just fine! :)

I'm slowly getting a bit more nervous about going back to school...I'm starting to "obsess" about silly things like my clothes and hair and if my schoolbag's cool enough...like being transported 15 years back in time! *lol*
Then I'm also not sure of the who's and how's of the registration that's happening on the 18th. I've got the time and place but not sure if I have to rapport to each class I'm going to or if I just show up and get a pile of paper (which you always do in Sweden!)... What about the books we need to get...should I maybe call next week (tomorrow even) so that I know what I need to get. Because surely it's going to be madness in the bookstores if all students run to get books at the same time...??? But if the info isn't out until we all get there the 18th then...?? Oh well, maybe we won't need any books the first few weeks if the store run out...?!
*deep breath*
I'll be just fine!
It'll all be just fine! :)

Erin's a big girl!

So, Dagis has started and all has gone well. Still haven't left her on her own yet, not until next week, and she's mainly been observing the other little ones an staying close to Mummy. She's not been clingy or even paid me that much attention but she stays close...just in case I guess. :)
We're there between 10-11 this week and between 9-11 next week. After that I suppose they're adjusted to all this new stuff... :/

There's 7 little ones doing their "practise run" this (and next) week and it does feel a bit...much. Since we're only there 1 hour in the morning I'm wondering why haven't they split the group up...? Must be very strange for the 2-3 "old" kiddies (rest are still on holidays etc.) to all of a sudden have 7 mum/dads and 7 little people come for an hour and then go home again. Strange...

Been thinking about getting in touch with the Rektor of the dagis and see how they'd planned this...because on top of being (in my opinion) a huge group to get "inskolad" at the same time, there's 2 out of 3 staff that are new to job...at least one of the new staff has never worked with children before!? The second one starts next week!
Next Wednesday they've said that they want us to leave the children as soon as we arrive and I'm having images of all 7 kiddies starting to cry and there being 3 staff to try and calm the situation... WHY not make it easier on themselves and divide the group up so that they'll only have 3-4 new children to deal with at the same time...??

Hmmm...

D day approaching...

Only three days left before Dagis starts again and Erin turns into a big girl! :O Well...turns and turns... :D She's kinda big already. ;) I'm sure it'll be just fine on Monday, wouldn't surprise me the slightest if Anton is the one having trouble adjusting to his new "big kids" group... It'll be a nice slow start for the three of us.

I've been slow on writing the last few weeks. It's been SO hot and I've been getting migraines from the heat and been feeling slightly miserable.
Last weekend we got a loan of a car (Stephen's boss's daughters "old" Audi A6 - she's getting a new one now that she's getting her license!?) and went to Falköping to celebrate my littlesisters boyfriend turning 30...wierd how we're all getting older... :D If the people around me (the same age as me!) stopped ageing then I'd still be 24...or 14? *lol* But when cousins who in my mind are about 8 have passed 20 a few years back I'm just having to accept that yes...I too am getting older! :P
Anyways...it was a great get-together and very nice BBQ! :D

This weekend we're going to Gothenburg (Partille actually) for my cousin Kati's wedding to her dear Chris. It's all 50s themed and it's going to be good to see who all has "dressed up" for the occasion. Bride will be gorgeous I'm sure, she's one of those people that would look great dressed in a plastic bag! :)
Both my sisters have bought themselves new 'frocks' to fit in but not being a dress sort of gal myself I've opted for red trousers and a blouse...hopefully my make-up will get me a "pass" into the 50s! ;) Hoping for a really good day on Saturday.

Then the inevitable Monday will arrive and... :´( ...we'll be juuuust fiiiiiine.... :D
*keep repeating new mantra*
Just fine... ;)
