Eyjafjallajökull

On a completely different note...! :)

How cool is that the volcanic eruption of Eyjafjallajökull have grounded flights all over Europe!?! (article from TheLocal) I mean, it isn't cool for the people on Iceland who have lost their homes to the following flood or those who have been evacuated from their home because of the eruption... or those people stuck all over the world or not able to go on their destinations...but it is cooool that Nature is still The Boss! I think a healthy dose of reality isn't bad...!

No amount of technology can keep those huge metal monsters in the sky when Mother Nature demands attention...! Thankfully we're not dealing with a natural disaster comparable to the earth quake in Haiti or China or any other huge human catastrophe so I'm taking the opportunity to enjoy this awesome display of Mother Natures Power...!

We're experiencing the biggest air travel shutdown since World War II and over the past 1,100 years, Eyjafjallajökull has erupted four times: in 920, 1612, between 1821–1823, and in 2010. We're getting to experience something historical...! :) Now that's cool!

The stupidness of an article in the tabloid Aftonbladet yesterday made me shake my head at how ignorant some people are! The title was enough to make me think idiot! "The year is 2010 - how can a stupid clouds create chaos?" he called it and omg! OMG! *rolls eyes* The writer, Oisín Cantwell, concludes that "something wrong with Iceland and something is wrong with today's technology." ...Because they've elected openly gay Jóhanna Sigurðardóttir as their Prime Minister?? I honestly can't believe that that might be the point he was trying to make (!?!) and because we can't control Nature?! We can't blast a ash cloud out of the sky?! What an idiot!

Most people, stuck abroad and having to wait things out or take a bus or train instead of a flight, seem to take this with ease. Yeah it sucks getting stuck, yes it frustrating and a hassle but what can one do? I don't think anyone (not even Oisín Cantwell) would like the planes to fly if there's a increased risk of it falling out of the sky!

What an awesome thing to tell your grandchildren. :) History everyone...!! :D Can't beat it and don't even think about messing with Mother Nature!! ;)

No matter how technologically advanced we'll be we won't have a chance when She moves a mountain or expels molten rock on the earth...

E.
